Fan control during PTO usage

SOPS parameter APSFanControl · seen in 8 SOPS files

What it controls

Controls how the engine cooling fan behaves while a power take-off is engaged. Bodies that load the engine at low vehicle speed — concrete mixers, refuse compactors, cranes working for hours — get very little airflow through the radiator, so the coordinator can force a fan request whenever the PTO is active instead of waiting for the coolant temperature to rise. The forced request costs a little fuel and noise but avoids the temperature warnings and derating that stationary PTO work otherwise produces in summer. Set it according to the duty cycle of the body: long stationary operation benefits from the forced fan, short tail-lift cycles do not need it.

Possible values

Forced Fan request during PTO usageseen in 8 files
The fan is requested at full speed whenever a PTO is engaged.
Normal
Fan follows the normal temperature-based control even with the PTO engaged.
