What it controls
Enables the kickdown function of the Opticruise gearbox: pressing the accelerator past the resistance point at the end of its travel forces an immediate downshift for maximum acceleration, for instance when joining a motorway with a full load. Fleets focused on fuel economy sometimes disable it so drivers cannot force high-rev downshifts; operators in hilly regions and heavy haulage keep it. The kickdown threshold itself (how far the pedal must travel) is set in the coordinator as KickdownLevel. When a driver reports that “the gearbox never shifts down when I floor it”, check this parameter before suspecting the pedal sensor.
